Today I had the opportunity to watch a very inspirational episode of Oprah. I am not an over obsessive person with regards to feminism, however I do believe in a dream. Today there were 3 inspirational women from the Congo in Africa who have made a difference in their own culture and even the lives of Americans. One woman was raped and beaten her entire life, even burned to death however she maintained to fulfill 5 dreams; move to America, get a college degree, get a masters degree, remarry, and in a few months she will be rewarded with a Ph.D.

The world is a tough place, perhaps one day we will be look back and be ashamed for the hell that aspires in the Congo. But for now, I have learned something today...I can do anything and be happy for what I have.

"When you learn, teach. When you get, give." May the world be a better place if we empower women in Africa.

LUAU!

Posted by The way it is...

I would first like to notice the look on John's face is very concerned. HAHA! What a freak!

Last night John and I went to the Annual Luau at the Yacht Club. This is our second year attending these festivities. Last year was a hit because John shook his bootie in front of the entire audience while doing some Hawaiian dance. If you know John, this is something very out of character for the man. LOVE IT!

Unfortunately, this year John denied the chance to get up on stage but his little neice Brooke is following in his footsteps!!

Histerical!

P.S. I would like to correct my mispelling on my past post...How do I work for Kraft Foods and mispell bologna!!!!! "Oscar Mayor has it's way with B-O-L-O-G-N-A"

This is new for me

Posted by The way it is...

So I decided to get involved in the blogging world. Not because I am really interesting or have anything remotely exciting on the page, but I thought it would be nice to help me organize my "life" thoughts. I have so many.

Today I started my new Job FINALLY at Kraft Foods Nabisco. It was a long process and they did a extremely thorough background check on me. Including a hair follicle drug test. US Healthworks cut out a huge piece of my hair. I was partially bald. I know you are all wondering......I am free and clear of any drugs. I am happy to announce that I took home my first load of goodies today! I got oreos (double stuf, golden, chocolate filled), chocolate covered ritz, crackers....and so on. I am now everyone's bff.

It has been a hard transition focusing on a new world of learning rather than teaching in the classroom, but I feel that I am being led down a road that God wants me to go to. I am getting tired of the OSCAR MAYOR Baloney that goes along with the life of a public employee.

So as a tribute to my new employer......
